How it works.

Do I have to transfer all art and sell it through the Collective store?

No. This is purely optional, if you prefer, you may keep the artworks in your wallet, list the items yourself and the Collective will only provide promotional support (announcing launch dates on social media, contacting collectors, etc.)

Benefits of selling art through the Collective store:

1.

Eligible to receive a 20% commission on all successful referrals. All members listed in the joint store accept paying promotion forward. If another member brings in a buyer, the artist consents to paying that member a 20% of the sales price (after the deduction of all gas fees and 3rd party commissions) as a finder’s fee. This way every member of the Collective is incentivised to promote the work of others. What goes around—comes around.

2.

Enhanced visibility and promotion. We will endeavour to promote each member’s gallery several times per week, but the community store will be promoted several times per day.

I am an artist, how can I evolve into a Block Cat?

We have no membership fees, but each artist must feed one free, unique artwork per year to the Collective gallery kitty. The donations will be sold at a joint auction event, with all proceeds going to promoting and maintaining the Collective’s efforts to kick-start art careers.

If you wish to join us, please be aware that we represent artists who produce appealing eye-candy or audible ambrosia. We do not work with artists producing shocking, explicit or overly abstract, niche work. The idea behind each piece must be clearly and skilfully communicated. We cannot find buyers for work we are not excited about ourselves, so we cannot accept prickly white noise, death metal or other work we consider abrasive to the senses.

To be considered, submit three unique artworks created by you, for review. These pieces should be indicative of your personal growth, journey and development as an artist. If you are accepted, one piece will be selected from your sample works, as your donation for the year, you must then mint it and send it to the Collective wallet. Please submit only good work, worthy of your overall talent. We are not interested in random doodles or quick effects filters slapped over Pexels images.

Once accepted, you may pick your feline pseudonym (if you wish to be known by another name, the cat version will be included in brackets thereafter) and write a rock-star bio introducing yourself to prospective collectors.

What’s in the name?

The word “animus” hails from Latin and means “mind, spirit, courage, passion”. These are the areas of being we value the most and, coupled with loyalty and kindness, these are the virtues we hone. In our world, all are welcomed equally and given the opportunity to thrive and prove their worth.
